Secret Anime Club actually began as a Discord community for anime fans of my apparel brand called, Imouri, founded in 2015. That was about the same time I essentially gave up on years of trying to "make it" as a DJ/Artist. Flash forward to present, I never stopped making music, but my old alias was dead. I was getting eager to start new and after seeing an opportunity to run with Secret Anime Club, the project began.
Secret Anime Club is three things at once:
It's me, my music project alias.
It's a literal secret "club" (venue) my core group of friends and I created.
It's an online community of anime (and now hopefully S.A.C. music) fans.
Some musical things about me: I've been producing music since 2012, but my roots go back to violin and piano, both of which I started playing at seven. The keys are still the place I feel the most connected to creatively speaking. I’ll sit down and improvise new-age piano solos just to clear my head or drift into a different world for a few minutes. That sense of melody is a core driving element in every song I make, even when the production goes off in completely unexpected directions.
I’ve never been able to stick to a single lane—honestly, and I dislike the word “genre”, but I've always preferred making music that has me and my friends jumping around. That's not to say I won't drop a piano solo or pop ballad now and then, FYI.
Welcome to the club.
